Associate Director, Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH)​ Payer Marketing & Access Strategy

As Associate Director, PAH & Rare Disease Payer Marketing, you will be an integral member of the launch team for our Company’s new rare disease therapy in Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH). This individual will be responsible for the development and execution of U.S. market access strategies and tactics and serve the primary segment lead for U.S. Payers, Pharmacy-Benefit Managers (PBM), and employers.

This role will require robust engagement with key stakeholders including Brand Marketing, Account Management, Data & Analytics, Outcomes Research and Policy to incorporate market/customer insights in the development of payer customer segment strategies, promotional resources, and value evidence planning. As a member of our Company's dedicated U.S. PAH & Rare Disease Business Unit, this individual will collaborate across functions to support patient access and a successful launch in the United States.

The preferred location for this position is hybrid in Upper Gwynedd, PA but will consider remote opportunity if candidate is willing to travel to HQ on occasional/as-needed basis.

Responsibilities include and are not limited to the following:

  • Develop customer segment strategy and promotional initiatives for U.S. Payer & PBM (Health Plan, PBM, Medicaid, Medicare, Federal, Employer) to achieve market access goals.

  • Proactively enable the U.S. Payer strategy and tactics with members of the Integrated Account Management (IAM) organization, including customer-facing account executives and account directors.

  • Leverage data and insights to analyze reimbursement and coverage trends across prioritized customers, identify gaps and opportunities to improve appropriate patient access.

  • Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of PAH & Rare Disease business strategy and contribute to regular updates to financial forecasting assumptions.

  • Inform the development of value evidence strategies with strong coordination with Outcomes Research to identify data gaps and evidence needs.

  • Assess and consider the impact of potential new clinical data and competitor developments on U.S. access environment and strategy.

  • Analyze relevant trends in the federal and state policy and reimbursement landscape to understand and shape potential impact to patient access.

  • Ensure timely delivery and execution of contracting strategies with prioritized segments.

  • Demonstrate leadership and challenge the status quo while working on a cross-functional team to execute high-profile product launch in the U.S. market, create stronger outcomes, and foster a culture of inclusivity, collaboration, and innovation.

  • Active participation and collaboration in the Payer & Access Customer Agile Team (CAT).

Position Qualifications:

Education:

  • Required: BA/BS Degree

  • Preferred: MBA, MPH, Pharm D or other advanced degree

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Minimum of (5) years working knowledge in market access, U.S. Payer / PBM strategy, marketing, sales leadership, account management, or consulting in the healthcare industry

  • Proven track record in developing and executing successful market access strategies in the pharmaceutical industry

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to collaborate and influence cross-functional teams

  • Excellent leadership and communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders

  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical capabilities and the ability to translate data into actionable insights

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:

  • Demonstrated understanding of the mechanics and economics of the U.S. healthcare ecosystem, including influences between Payers, PBMs, and Integrated Delivery Networks and reimbursement

  • Demonstrated understanding of U.S. healthcare trends and policy issues and their potential impact upon our company's business opportunities

  • Experience in PAH, specialty, or rare disease therapeutic areas

  • Marketing and promotions development expertise

  • Account Management/Contract Negotiation knowledge

U.S. Hybrid Work Model

Effective September 5, 2023, employees in office-based positions in the U.S. will be working a Hybrid work consisting of three total days on-site per week, generally Tuesday, Wednesday and either Monday or Thursday, although the specific days may vary by site or organization, with Friday designated as a remote-working day, unless business critical tasks require an on-site presence. Expected salary range:

$135,500.00 - $213,400.00
