This position, is for an Oracle SME requiring expertise in High Availability, Disaster Recovery, Database Upgrades, Audit Controls, etc. for high transaction , high availability platforms. He/she will also be responsible for leading database projects and work with partner teams to bring these projects to successful and timely completion. Emphasis is on initiative and independent judgment and service oriented mentality.

Solid experience in supporting Oracle databases on high transaction, high availability, multi-TB environments is required.

Experience with SQL Server , Azure SQL, and/or SQL Server for Azure, configuration and operational support is a plus.

Performs core database management tasks including software installation, database creation and configuration, database upgrades, backup and recovery, locking resolution, etc.

Supports 24x7 global environments and ensures their availability, performance, security, and operational efficiency.

Collaborates with System Admins and Network Engineers on optimization of Storage configurations, Networking, and Server components.

Performs trend analysis and system capacity planning. Monitor and optimize database performance including partitioning strategies, index tuning, and query optimization.

Participates in research, evaluation, and recommendation of new technologies, products, and hardware infrastructures.


5+ years of Oracle database administration experience on Linux (RedHat and/or Oracle), primarily supporting high availability, multi-TB environments.

Strong experience with Oracle installation, configuration, and management of multiple environments is required.

Solid understanding of database internals and tuning of database components is required.

Experience configuring and using Oracle ASM, OEM Cloud Control 12c, Oracle Data Guard, Performance Tuning using AWR Reports, Explain Plans, using RMAN for backups/restore and duplicate database is a must. Goldengate replication is a plus.

Experience using SQL Management Studio, SQL Server 2012/2014/2016 using Windows Failover Clustering/SQL Server Failover Cluster Instance, TSQL etc is a plus.

Experience with NoSQL/Big Data platforms like Cassandra or MongoDB is a plus.

Must be able to demonstrate strong Unix/Linux and/or T-SQL shell scripting and SQL scripting expertise, for standardization/automation of database tasks.

Experience with using Oracle Databases on EMC Storage Arrays and devices – VMAX, VNX and Data Domain is a plus.

Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, MS Project, etc.) is a plus

Drive to reach out to business and development partners to understand how the applications interact with the database environment.

Excellent communication, inter-personal, documentation, and troubleshooting skills.


B.S. in Computer Science or other technical degree or equivalent work experience required


2+ years of hands on experience with SQL Server database administration, primarily supporting high transaction applications, Windows Clustering technology and related High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions.

Experience with NoSQL Databases Cassandra or MongoDB is a plus. Experience on Cloud Infrastructure like Azure is a plus.
