Massachusetts Employer Carpenter in Beverly, Massachusetts

Performs carpentry and maintenance work in the alteration, repair and maintenance of City property and equipment; performs related work as required. Supervision: Works under the supervision of the Building and Highway Maintenance Foreman who reviews work for adherence to standards and instructions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following; other duties may be assigned. ? Organizes necessary materials and tools for construction and maintenance jobs. ? Establishes order of work to efficiently complete specific tasks. ? Interprets plans and blueprints used in work. ? Estimates materials and supplies and sees that deliveries to the job are made on time. ? Maintains records and prepares reports on jobs. ? Performs carpentry work in the alteration, repair and maintenance of buildings, structures, equipment and other City property. Qualifications: ? Good knowledge of the tools, practices, procedures and materials of the trade. ? Ability to work from plans and specifications and to follow rough sketches and oral instructions. ? Ability to rig and work from scaffolds. ? Ability to estimate materials and time needed to complete various tasks. ? Dependability. City of Beverly MASSACHUSETTS ? Experience as a journeyman carpenter and completion of a standard high school course; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. ? Valid Massachusetts Commercial Drivers License. ? Valid Mass Construction Supervisor License.
