Fidelity Investments Associate Data Analyst in Boston, Massachusetts
The Associate Data Analyst is part of the Fidelity Clearing & Custody Solutions (FCCS) Business Consulting team. In FCCS we help our institutional clients thrive by growing their businesses, more effectively meeting customer needs, and enhancing operational efficiency and profitability. This role will be responsible for understanding client business drivers and mining data to create diagnostic and benchmarking views that can be applied to consulting engagements.
The Expertise We’re Looking For
Undergraduate degree required. Advanced degree preferred.
3-5 years of experience within the financial services industry
Prior exposure to brokerage, wealth management, and/or RIA business models preferred.
The Purpose of Your Role
The Associate Data Analyst role is part of FCCS’s Business Consulting team, which provides productivity and efficiency consulting services to current and prospective clients. The team provides management consulting services on strategy development, operational efficiency, technology solutions, and best practices as well as delivering client programs and workshops. In each case, client data is utilized to inform our team and the consulting process and is leveraged extensively to provide benchmarking and diagnostic analysis for clients. This role directly supports the team’s Business Consultants and works closely with the Business Analytics group.
The Skills You Bring
Your foundational understanding of relational data concepts
You have functional proficiency with Business Intelligence products such as Tableau and Business Objects
You have experience using SQL, Alteryx, or MS Access or have a strong desire to develop capabilities with these tools
Your strong MS Office skills including PowerPoint and Excel
You bring strong interpersonal skills with ability to influence and build solid relationships
Your ability to deliver analytic presentations and scorecards clearly and crisply both in written form and in front of audiences, including senior executives
You have strong organizational skills to ensure that tasks are delivered both accurately and on-time
You are a team player with a demonstrated desire to share and contribute to the team’s success
The Value You Deliver
Acting as fully functioning member of the Business Consulting team, directly supporting consulting projects that help our clients and their advisors increase productivity and efficiency
Synthesizing multiple data sources, including database analytics, market research, competitive intelligence, etc., to create relevant datasets for scorecards and insights that help to provide tactical and strategic recommendations
Supporting current client diagnostic and benchmarking efforts for broker-dealer clients, and working to enhance overall benchmarking and data analysis capabilities to include expanded data sets across a broader, multi-segment client set
Hands on working with data in the form of flat files or with a relational/dimensional data stores
Studying and understanding the competitive landscape, industry trends, technology vendors and overall influencers such as advisor and investor demographics, consumer technology and regulatory issues
Maintaining comprehensive knowledge of the FCCS platform, technology offering, and product solutions, as well as our competitive position within the marketplace
