The Business Systems Support Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Teaching a 3 day training class on the applications of Epic outpatient registration/scheduling workflow, customer service.

  • Acting as a consultant for users to ensure the optimization of workflow and business processes.

  • Providing support for department computer system applications.

  • Coordinating and implementing installation, upgrade, and maintenance of software and hardware systems.

  • Acting as a liaison with Information Systems, other hospital departments and outside vendors on issues related to systems and applications.

  • Monitoring input and system processing data and assisting in development of related procedures and controls.

To qualify, you must have:

  • The knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts typically acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a concentration in computer science or a closely related field.

  • A minimum of one year of experience using supported systems.

  • Familiarity with Practice Management software from Epic (Cadence, Prelude, Resolute).

  • Experience with Children’s Hospital systems, strongly preferred.

  • The analytical skills to resolve complex problems requiring the use of scientific, mathematical, or technical principles and in‑depth, experienced‑based cross‑functional knowledge.

  • Communication skills in order to effectively deal with conflicting views or issues and mediate fair solutions, or well‑developed writing skills.

  • Current experience in the Ambulatory Clinic or similar environment.

  • The ability to work independently.

  • Experience teaching concepts to individuals and groups.

  • The ability and desire to speak in front of a potentially large group of employees.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Data Entry skills and experience.
