What You Will Be Doing

  • Achieve quarterly targets for new business for the assigned territory (including but not limited to the eastern half of the US)

  • Manage territory in such a way as to maximize revenue potential

  • Meet with clients in person on a regular basis

  • Work closely with department heads on generation of proposals and bid defenses that meet the client needs and expectations

  • Manage complex contract negotiation and work with legal counsel as required

  • Identify target market for our services and establish action plans to initiate contact with potential customers within this market

  • Budgeting and forecasting of future revenue

  • Revenue generation and strategic partnerships development and management

What You Need for this Position

Required:

  • A Bachelors degree in business, marketing or a biological science is required, with an MBA preferred.

  • 5+ years of Business Development, Marketing, and/or Sales experience for Phase 2/3 Clinical Trials, with direct experience in the CRO industry.

  • Experience marketing or selling products or services in a start-up or early stage environment.

  • A solid understanding of the CRO industry and extensive contacts within it.

  • A good understanding of the clinical development process and the role each functional area plays within the development cycle.

  • Excellent negotiation, communication and writing skills.

  • Ability to navigate complex study budgets and understanding of legal issues related to the pharmaceutical field.

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with dynamic presentation skills including command of English language

  • Ability to establish credibility and be decisive, but able to recognize and support the organization's preferences and priorities.

  • Ability to be proactive in solving complex issues

  • Effective in building relationships and networks both within and beyond the organization

  • Willingness to travel
