They will ensure consistency and continuity of the financial reporting requirements and of the financial management of the organization. The below is a summarized job description. Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for development of financial analysis, flux and budget variance analysis, management analysis, variance of program analysis, and discussion of reports and financial trends

  • Develop, prepare, and review operating budget status for grant proposals for federal, multilateral, and private funders, and revise budgets to reflect changes in activity and/or department budgets

  • Serve on proposal development teams, assisting in bridging the gap between funder and internal financial reporting requirements

  • Provide ongoing feedback to grant managers on financial status of projects they oversee, and ensure grant managers submit budget changes to funders for approval

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting (Preferred)

  • 3-5 years of experience in an accounting department

  • Previous experience with government grants and contracts in a non-profit organization setting

  • Strong computer skills - Microsoft Excel and basic knowledge of financial systems mechanics

  • Knowledge of Budget Maestro and Great Plains Dynamics accounting software

  • Strong presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with solid decision-making and leadership abilities

  • Well-organized and detail-oriented

  • Able to work well in a multi-cultural environment
