Quality Auditor to perform audits of power systems installations and related equipment in the field. Audits consist of a comprehensive documentation review of engineering information used to install the equipment followed by a physical review of the completed power systems installation. Focus on performing tests (eg NDT) and defining controls (eg SPC) ensures correct alignment with quality requirement, and ensure that manufactured or procured products meet specified standards
As a Quality Auditor, you will:
Prepare for and perform installation quality audits of physical AC & DC Power Systems and associated job documentation
Prepare for and perform engineering specification audits based on customer requirements and standards
Use customer, industry, and GE standards to identify all non-compliances
Interact with customers and external contractors required to clarify & define requirements.
Use industry knowledge and experience to interface with customers and external contractors to clarify and define requirements
Prepare detailed report substantiating audit non-compliances
Enter audit non-compliances into Workforce Management System
Assist Installation Teams to interpret non-compliances and identify corrective actions
Track and review responses from Installation Teams to validate that all non-compliances have been properly corrected
Address appeals and/or escalate resolution as necessary
Develop and execute routine audit schedule based on job completion dates, installation team members’ performance, and minimization of travel expenses
Create, update, and publish management reports for customers and GE as required
Receive and review customer requests for information and assure timely and accurate completion
Provide QC set-up and support in tendering and execution phases of Engineering Procure Construct
Oversee fulfillment of contractual and regulatory requirements to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction
Capture lessons learned to continually improve execution processes
Resolve problems through the application of acquired expertise guided by precedent
Contact are under guidance and/or geared towards specifying activities, planning of activities and giving explanations on technical issues
Present to internal teams on metrics, project status and research
Perform collateral duties as assigned to meet business needs as they relate to EHS, Quality, Integrity, etc.
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in Quality)
- Ability and willingness to travel 60-80% of the time, as required
Knowledge of Telecommunications Equipment Installation and Engineering Requirements (knowledge of AC & DC Power Systems is highly desirable)
Ability to read, to interpret, and to understand technical requirements and apply to power systems installations, using relevant information to determine whether documented requirements and standards are met
Ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with Installation and Engineering team members, customers, and contractors and maintain them over time
Ability to clearly and accurately communicate information verbally and in written form so others will understand
Ability to manage one’s time and coordinate with GE, customer, and contractor representatives to schedule audits
Strong interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office tools
Strong negotiating skills
Demonstrated ability to lead and influence GE customer and peers
