As Region Manager, you will provide functional leadership and direction to all field sales talent assigned to region. Region Manager will be actively engaged in developing and executing sales strategies and strategic plans to drive acute sales and to meet operational goals in the hospital market. Region Manager will be responsible for the overall fiscal success, including net revenue and expense management, achieving targeted growth, maintaining base business, and driving healthy product revenue margins of the assigned region. Region Manager will oversee and drive productive talent hiring and development and movement to ensure optimal field seller performance and succession planning. The Region Manager will be responsible for establishing and maintaining key relationships with cross-functional partners including marketing, training, human resources, finance, sales operations and strategic partnerships directors .**Product portfolio includes the venous solutions, dialysis, incontinence, wound care, OR positioning, perinatal, nutritional insufficiency and urology categories.
Recruit, hire, train, develop, and manage aligned sales representatives and sales associates
Actively coach direct reports to meet annual objectives through the development of competent business skills, product knowledge, and market intelligence
Lead regional opportunity development and forecast management strategies and activities that translate into accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual projections (Salesforce.com)
Maintain sole ownership of providing accurate sales projections to Area Vice President each reporting period
Work collaboratively with relevant cross-functional partners to drive business strategy related to pre-sale and post-sale activities, competitive targets, mobilization strategies and sales initiatives
Develop and implement business plans that effectively utilize local account team resources available to the region (sales associates, clinical support, key accounts directors)
Partner with Strategic Partnerships Key Account Directors to drive cross-portfolio/division opportunities and to leverage selling tools for regional IDN development
Collaborate across key internal stakeholder groups (finance, sales operations, marketing, OEM, etc.) as well as peers to identify and address trends and support business needs and strategy
Identify, qualify, prepare, and execute effective sales strategies that maintain existing base of business and support the close of competitive and revenue growth opportunities
Plan and execute effective activities to communicate clear expectations, stimulate productive information exchange and facilitate the transfer of necessary skills
Responsible for meeting forecasting, revenue, margin, and profitability objectives, as well as delivering expected profit results by balancing revenue generation and expense management for region
Develop and implement aggressive talent development initiatives that optimize team productivity, drive bench development, and support organizational talent cross-pollination
Identify and own strategy and customer relationship development at key regional customer and IDNs
Achieve customer satisfaction for products and services and ensure all regulatory and product specific guidelines are met
Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) from a four year college or university
Minimum of 5 years of documented success in medical sales is required. Previous management experience is preferred. Prior experience in market development is a plus.
3+ years in complex team selling environment
Documented track record of exceeding assigned quota in hospital medical environment
Previous experience with both capital and consumable product categories in hospital environment. Experience with cardiac and venous solutions or nutritional access and skin product categories are preferred.
Ideal candidate will live within the territory
Master’s Degree (MA, MBA, MS) is highly desirable
Previous sales management experience strongly preferred
Able to quickly assimilate contracts and develop supporting financial business case
Proven track record of recruiting, hiring, mentoring and developing talent
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a complex, matrixed, geographically-distributed environment with multiple value streams
Proven track record of selling to and influencing “C” level and executive level stakeholders as well as complex customers
Proven ability to create and deliver high-level presentations and business correspondence.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
Demonstrated positive and constructive attitude that drives team cooperation in achieving company objectives
Strong background and understanding of healthcare reform, competitive landscape and related implications for hospital customers
Ability to influence and drive cross-functional teams with or without direct authority
Demonstrated characteristics of a transformational leader who can lead others through corporate and environmental change and difficult circumstances
Well-developed organizational and time management skills
Strong computer proficiency required, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
