Sr. Data Integration Analyst – Boston, MA
BridgeView IT is looking for a Sr. Data Integration who is passionate about analyzing data, performing statistical analyses, developing data models, and presenting clinical and administrative data to decision-makers for improved care delivery. This position requires a combination of strong data analysis, data mining, statistical and data modeling skills. The person will leverage data integration tools to integrate data into data resources for use with internal dashboards, reports, scorecards and adhoc analyses. This position will have responsibility for designing, administering and managing ETL jobs into dynamic data models required to support hospital reporting solutions. The incumbent will have a good understanding of data warehouse design and implementations as well as possess good data analysis, and SQL skills. This person will take on project management responsibilities to manage the development and implementation of new features and functions for projects that are small to medium in size.
Bachelor’s degree (master’s degree preferred) in the areas of Mathematics, Statistics, Management Information Systems or similar fields.
Three (3) or more years of experience with data mining and statistical analysis, and analyzing data sets to extract meaningful insights and support reporting requirements.
Must have strong oral and written communication skills, with experience conducting stakeholder interviews to understand business and technical requirements.
Must be capable of working independently with limited to no supervision.
Must possess a strong background in data warehousing projects and ETL frameworks relative to data integration, showing progressive experience in this area.
Must possess strong data analysis skills and be able to perform data analysis using SQL or similar query languages with limited direction.
Must be able to identify, triage, and resolve or dispatch issues.
Must be willing to contribute to and foster a team player culture where all are encouraged and willing to share information accurately.
Experience with ETL tools such as SAS, Informatica, Data Stage, and Ab Initio.
Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau) a plus.
Experience in Health Care a plus, but not required.
Skills & Abilities:
Proven analytical and problem-solving skills combined with ability to think creatively.
Proven data analysis, data mining, and use of statistical methods to understand nuances of complex, disparate data sources, with an ability to design for their integration for analytical reporting
Ability to understand business requirements and envision how end-product will be utilized throughout the organization.
Experience with relational database management systems (RDBMS), and an understanding of relational database design.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proven ability to pay attention to details in a fast-paced environment with multiple initiatives. Keeps track of changing requirements and various deadlines and is consistent in meeting them.
Ability to multi-task and be flexible, versatile and adaptable in day to day activities conducted in a fast-paced environment.
Work with end users, analysts, project team members and technical staff, to plan, design, develop, implement, and enhance analytic capabilities through data integration of various and external data sources.
Conduct interviews with analytics stakeholders, as well as analytics staff to understand business requirements for reporting and dashboarding projects
Perform data profiling and analysis utilizing statistical and data mining methods to obtain a good understanding of data availability, relationships and nuances for consideration of optimal data structures.
Create data models pursuant to the requirements of analytics projects that support the consumption of data for reporting purposes in Tableau dashboarding environment.
Develop, maintain and document data integration jobs in order to deliver on information requests and deepen the analytics capabilities of operations, fiscal, and administrative staff.
Develop and maintain standards pursuant to architecture, report documents, dashboards, cubes, and other data warehousing development practices.
Evaluate and recommend new tools and methodologies to assist in meeting business requirements through data integration and reporting.
Triage, troubleshoot and resolve data issues from end users and internal team members. Perform review of existing ETL code from other analysts and non-team members to ensure that all code and processes conform to standards and guidelines.
Provide training to team and end-users on key analytic and reporting systems and databases when necessary. May play a role in presenting data and analyses to key stakeholder groups independently and/or represent on internal and external committees or task forces as needed.
Review current operational data structures and data flows and recommend optimizations and opportunities for automation.
Create and execute test plans and test scripts for unit and system testing of ETL code and reports, based upon requirements specifications.
Develop and enforce change management and versioning processes surrounding new releases of ETL jobs and evaluate and recommend new tools and methodologies to assist with change and version management.
Assist with performing upgrades of data environment when necessary.
Performs all other related duties as required.
