Convention Data Services, Inc. Accounting Payroll Specialist in Bourne, Massachusetts
Job Summary Primary responsibilities include processing bi-weekly payroll, accounts payable and monthly reconciliations. Specialist will reconcile transactions/ GL accounts. Compile financial information for management reports. Works with managers in obtaining payroll approvals. Researches and resolves payroll and A/P issues. Supports employees in use of self-service HR and time and attendance system. Works with finance staff and purchasing agents throughout the company on various finance tasks. Additional responsibilities include travel, employee/contractor reimbursements and monthly reconciliations. Essential Functions 1. Process and coordinate changes to payroll, calculate commissions, and record all related GL entries. 2. Process and remit benefit related payments such as FSA deposits and 401k contributions. 3. Active involvement in all payroll related audit engagements. 4. Acquire approval, code and enter A/P invoices for disbursement on a regular basis. 5. Match invoices with purchase orders making sure they match for price, quantity, etc. 6. Follow up on invoices that may have a discrepancy. 7. Process ACH and Check Run by scheduled date (1st & 15th or bi-weekly). 8. Prepare weekly A/P status report. 9. General Ledger Account reconciliation. 10. Complete required reconciliations for month end closing. 11. Other duties as assigned. Required Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual must be organized, have general accounting knowledge, and be able to work independently, as well as in a team environment. Demonstrated attention to detail and problem-solving skills as well as the ability maintain confidential information are a must. It is also necessary to be able to comply with deadlines, have excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. A minimum of 2 years accounting and/or payroll experience and a strong working knowledge of MS applications required. Previous Payroll software (Preview, HRO, TLO) experience ideal. Education A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance is desired but not required.
