What You Will Be Doing
Lead mechanical design and analysis of product line from design through verification
Design new products and make improvements to existing products. The design includes opto-mechanical and mechanical concept development, mechanical system architecture, mechanical system trade-off analysis, thermal and stress analysis, and tolerance analysis.
Evaluate products, parts, and process for cost efficiency and reliability
Works with other members of the engineering and operations staff to ensure that products are developed to meet all performance and quality standards in a timely matter.
Develop tooling and fixtures for assembly and process development
Help develop procedures, processes, and work instruction
Maintain detailed BoMs and BoM cost
Work closely with vendors on negotiating specs and meeting cost requirements
What You Need for this Position
BS in Engineering
Tolerance Analysis and GD&T
MRB/Parts Failure Documentation and Recommendations
Lab Set-ups and Design - Bonus
Laser/Optical Industry Experience a Bonus
