What You Will Be Doing

  • Lead mechanical design and analysis of product line from design through verification

  • Design new products and make improvements to existing products. The design includes opto-mechanical and mechanical concept development, mechanical system architecture, mechanical system trade-off analysis, thermal and stress analysis, and tolerance analysis.

  • Evaluate products, parts, and process for cost efficiency and reliability

  • Works with other members of the engineering and operations staff to ensure that products are developed to meet all performance and quality standards in a timely matter.

  • Develop tooling and fixtures for assembly and process development

  • Help develop procedures, processes, and work instruction

  • Maintain detailed BoMs and BoM cost

  • Work closely with vendors on negotiating specs and meeting cost requirements

What You Need for this Position

Qualifications:

  • BS in Engineering

  • SolidWorks

  • Jigs/Fixture/Tooling Design

  • Tolerance Analysis and GD&T

  • MRB/Parts Failure Documentation and Recommendations

  • Lab Set-ups and Design - Bonus

  • Laser/Optical Industry Experience a Bonus
