Duties & Responsibilities Under the leadership of the Associate Director of Athletics for Marketing and Sales, this position:

  • Develops and manages a comprehensive marketing strategy to promote 42 Varsity sports, including 6 ticketed sports;

  • Creates and directs all promotional and advertising plans to generate ticket revenue, increase attendance, and enhance awareness of Harvard Athletics programs;

  • Secures corporate sponsorships and manages all fulfillment and client relations;

  • Responsible for strategic messaging to a diverse audience through social media and email marketing campaigns;

  • Identifies effective ways to deliver consistent branding and messaging through all marketing materials and digital channels;

  • Oversees game day management including scripts, promotions, customer service, band and special initiatives;

  • Collaborates on creative initiatives with internal and external groups to build community and pride in Harvard;

  • Supervises and manages Marketing interns.

    Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree required. At least 3 years of work experience in marketing and sales.

    Additional Qualifications Ideal candidates must also have and demonstrate:

  • Experience with marketing and social media analytics to measure effectiveness of marketing initiatives, as well as experience with faciliitating customer surveys;

  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Mac OS, Microsoft applications, HTML, Adobe InDesign and Adobe Photoshop;

  • Experience with email marketing and social media tools such as Constant Contact, Facebook, SnapChat, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Google Analytics, video editing and mobile applications. Knowledge of emerging technologies;

  • Strong interest in and passion for sports and college athletics;

  • Ability to develop relationships with a wide variety of internal and external constituents;

  • Results-driven, pro-active approach;

  • Creative and innovative thinker;

  • Experience working with consultants and/or external agencies;

  • Ability to work evenings/ weekends and travel to select events;

  • Strong written and communication skills;

  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects and supervise staff;

  • Proven ability to work independently and multi-task; and

  • Detail-oriented and well-organized.
