Duties & Responsibilities
The Human Resources Assistant provides key administrative support and coordinates a wide range of human resources functions. Supports all administrative steps of employment/hiring process including:

  • Maintaining the ASPIRE recruitment management system
  • Posting jobs and reviewing resumes
  • Coordinating and following up on required new hire paperwork and onboarding activities; coordinating new staff orientation
  • Ensuring timely processing of data changes for staff
  • Composing status change letters (e.g., promotions, equity adjustments, schedule changes)
  • Working with HR Officer to resolve data discrepancies between PeopleSoft and Central Payroll
  • Troubleshooting and monitoring processing issues
  • Responding to inquiries regarding University policies, procedures, and practices
  • Creating and maintaining personnel files (hardcopy)
  • Auditing files for compliance and following up on required documentation
  • Collaborating with Finance in maintaining the position control system
  • Tracking utilization and assisting with budget maintenance spreadsheet
  • Supporting various committees and projects
  • Performing other duties as necessary

Basic Qualifications
Associate Degree; experience with a minimum of three years of prior administrative experience.

Additional Qualifications

  • Healthcare and human resources experience
  • Strong customer services skills, experience processing high volume transactions requiring attention to detail
  • Highly organized with the ability to work independently; capacity to manage, prioritize, take initiative and be flexible
  • Able to maintain strict standards of confidentiality
  • Strong working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publishing software
  • P roven writing ability
