Job Responsibilities/Department Description:

The successful candidate will support biologics manufacturing activities for preclinical, Phase I and Phase II production of therapeutic proteins in a multi-product development facility. Highly motivated and independent individual is needed for a diverse range of manufacturing related activities for the preparation of bulk solutions, filling, and labeling under sterile/non-sterile conditions. This includes routine buffer/media preparation, aseptic filtration, equipment preparation and sterilization, cleaning and sanitizing of labware, and ordering/monitoring gas supply systems. Solve problems in manufacturing processes using defined options.

Additional requirements include maintaining inventories of lab/production supplies and operating general lab/manufacturing equipment to monitor and control production processes. Work with vendors concerning troubleshooting, repair and ordering of spare parts relevant to process equipment. The candidate must demonstrate aseptic technique and perform aseptic operations independently in a clean room environment. Participates in the review and creation of documents including batch production records, manufacturing procedures and cross functional procedures by providing input to the technical composition of the documents. Utilizes manufacturing process knowledge and investigation skill sets to identify and resolve manufacturing issues, improve process operations and affect positive change.

This position requires accurate documentation of all operations in a state of cGMP compliance. Computer skills, mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and excellent verbal/written communication, organizational and planning skills are required. The ability to cooperate with others in a team environment will be critical to success. May attend meetings related to production or transfer process of new products. May involve work with hazardous materials. May provide training to new personnel in specific technical process.

Basic Qualifications:

Biotechnology certificate or associate degree in biology/chemistry with a minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in cGXP manufacturing environment, including experience with buffer, media, and equipment preparation. Knowledge and demonstrated understanding of GXP and how it applies to specific responsibilities and manufacturing operations. Requires physical demands of lifting up to 30-35 pounds.
