The Bridge of Central Massachusetts, Inc. Assistant Program Manager - Gardner Men's ABI Residence in Gardner, Massachusetts


The Bridge has two four person homes to serve men and women with acquired brain injury requiring residential support with their physical, medical, and emotional challenges.Each home is designed and operated the same way. Services include community integration and development of social and leisure skills.Hands-on, specialized personal care assistance, including transfers and lifting, is also provided by the direct support professionals. Clinical and nursing supports will be provided on site.

The Bridge provides excellent supervision, as well as various training and advancement opportunities. The Bridge is an eligible employer for the Public Student Loan Forgiveness Program and provides some tuition reimbursement for continuing education.


The primary functions of an Assistant Program Manager are to provide administrative assistance to the Program Manager, supervise program staff while on shift, and provide structure while delegating shift responsibilities and activities. In addition to these responsibilities, the APM may provide counseling services to individuals, as well as serve as the primary supervisory/authority figure in the absence of the Program Manager. The APM also assists with Activities of Daily Living, which includesdirect care duties, hygiene (personal care), lifting, assisting with transfers, medication administration, documentation, assisting with group therapy, transportation, behavioral intervention, role modeling, and recreational activities.

The Assistant Program Manager also has on-call duties.


  • Bachelor's Degree in a Human Services/Social Services related field preferred.

  • Experience and/or internship with intellectually disabled adults.

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED/HiSET.

  • Must be 21 years of age.

  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, including Word.

  • CPR, First Aid, and MAP (Medication Administration Program) certified or certifiable.

  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification and/or commensurate experience preferred.
