The Paper Store Warehouse Supervisor in Leominster, Massachusetts

The primary function of the Warehouse Supervisor is to supervise a team while they process landed freight through each stage of our Distribution Process. This person will need to know how to build effective business strategies, drive efficiencies, lead and develop people, and be a part of a winning team.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Staff, train, evaluate and develop team members.

  • Supervise the daily activities of the warehouse operations.

  • Work with Warehouse Manager and Operations Specialists on staffing needs to meet the demands of the facility.

  • Allocate necessary space for stock rotation

  • Manage Priority orders an communicate status with management

  • Oversee shipping and receiving functions as applicable if needed

  • Develop project strategies, goals, and plans that enable the organization to improve internal operations and practices.

  • Track and monitor effectiveness of management routines and metrics; recommend and implement changes as needed to ensure business objectives are met.

  • Lead guide and coach customer supply chain team on: - Waste reduction - Process improvement - Process standardization - Process simplification

  • Collaborative, cross-functional team approach to process improvement.

  • Sets priorities that are focused on delivering clear, focused decisions and direction to the team.

  • Secure company assets.

  • Close warehouse and set alarms to secure building at the end of each shift.

  • Communicate via nightly recap to day shift with any issues/problems with orders.

  • Supervise 30+ associates.

  • High school diploma or GED required, Bachelor's degree preferred.

  • 1-3 years warehouse/inventory experience required.

  • Proven leadership abilities

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

  • Project management skills.

  • Requires experience managing people/budgets.

  • 2+ years supervising warehouse/inventory staff preferred.

  • Computer and database application skills.

  • Familiarity with inventory management systems.

  • Ability to operate a manual / powered pallet jack or lift product.

  • Scheduling flexibility to work any shifts and Saturdays as needed.

  • Ability to lift up to 70 pounds

  • Ability to stand/walk for 8 hours.
