As a Direct Support Worker/Residential Counselor, job duties include: (1) Participate in daily routines while assisting and encouraging clients to develop skills and be as independent as possible. Individual personal routines include a variety of different activities both at home and out in the community. (2) Assist with personal care, household chores, administration of medication, preparing meals, and other activities of daily living. (3) Provide social interaction and companionship in a family-style, home environment. (4) Out in the community, share your talents and interests while exploring new activities (e.g., baseball games, shopping, errands, dinning, craft fairs, recreational/social gatherings, music, movies, etc.) to enrich the lives of people with disabilities. (5) Assist in planning and organizing client appointments and other services, helping them achieve personal goals and realize their full potential. Openings available in over 40 communities in Greater Boston, Metro West and the North Shore including: Burlington & Bedford, Lexington Area, Malden & Medford , Woburn & Reading (*many of our locations accessible by public transportation) Minimum Qualifications: (1) HS diploma; Associates degree preferred (2) 6+ months relevant experience (prior related experience and/or direct experience in caring for loved ones apply) (3) Valid MA driver's license (some positions require a vehicle) (4) Willingness to learn and commitment to our missions and "Passion for What's Possible"
