Robert Half Database Administrator in Lincoln, Massachusetts

Description

Responsibilities:

Design, develop, implement, and maintain robust database solutions to meet the evolving needs of various departments across the school.

Collaborate with departments to develop and implement automated data feeds between systems.

Create customized queries, reports, and functionalities within Aspen and other school databases to empower end-users with the information they need.

Perform essential database administration tasks, including backups, recovery, performance optimization, and data security management.

Partner with stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into effective database solutions.

Develop and implement data governance policies and procedures to ensure data integrity and compliance with educational regulations.

Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues that arise, and identify opportunities for improvement.

Stay current on the latest database technologies and trends to ensure continuous optimization.

Provide technical support and guidance to staff regarding database access and usage.

Develop and deliver training sessions to faculty and staff on database usage and best practices.

Document database processes and procedures for future reference.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator in a K-12 educational or enterprise environment.

Proven experience with various relational database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL). Experience with Aspen is a plus.

Strong understanding of database design principles, data warehousing and analytics tools, and query optimization techniques.

Experience with data security best practices and disaster recovery procedures.

Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
