Lowell Community Health Center Receptionist in Lowell, Massachusetts

Job Responsibilities:

Provides clerical support to Adult Administrative Managers, nurses, and staff, including:

  • Knowledge of and adherence to HIPAA regulations regarding private health information

  • Greet incoming patients

  • Answer and transfer incoming calls on a multi-line phone

  • Notify triage nurse of walk-patients

  • Verify patients pharmacy

  • Schedule, cancel and reschedule appointments as needed

  • Cover Check in and Check out desks, including acknowledging patients’ arrival and scheduling follow-up appointments at check-out

  • Send no-show letters for missed appointments as per Lowell CHC policy

  • Photocopy, fax, scan and email documents as needed

  • Sort and distribute mail and faxes to appropriate provider and staff

  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Candidate should have at least 1 year experience in a clerical office/business environment. Experience in healthcare setting preferred. Position requires some evenings and may require occasional weekend hours. High school graduate or GED required. Completion of Medical Administration Certificate program preferred.
