Green Mountain Coffee Director, IT Procurement in MA, Massachusetts

The Director of IT Strategic Procurement is responsible for the leadership of all Information Technology purchasing across the enterprise. They develop and implement company policy relating to IT Strategic Procurement, and provide expert advice and leadership on all IT purchasing and contracting decisions.

The person in this role will lead and drive strategic IT supplier negotiations, handle contract disputes, and liaise with the Keurig Legal and Procurement teams to ensure that all IT contracts are legally and commercially sound and in compliance with Keurig policies. They will work across the entire enterprise, providing leadership and mentorship guidance to functional owners of third party IT service and maintenance contracts.

The person in this role will also be accountable for continuous delivery of increased business benefits and lower costs across large IT contracts.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: All aspects of IT Strategic Procurement including the purchasing of systems, supplies, equipment, and scalable services, as well as project management and contract negotiation and review. This work will be done in a matrix oriented environment across the enterprise, with a small team of direct reports who provide additional support for IT contract and purchasing management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide leadership of all IT Strategic Procurement functions across the Keurig enterprise, setting strategies and direction.

  • Develop strategies and negotiate terms and conditions with IT vendors and/or suppliers.

  • Own and manage a $25M annual operating budget, representing renewals of software maintenance, SaaS, IT service and various support contracts across approximately 200 IT contracts.

  • Partner with senior IT leaders across the enterprise in leading negotiations of Statements of Work and Change Requests that have annual value of $50MM.

  • Ensure that all IT contracts and supplier terms adhere to Keurig Legal and Procurement standards, and engage those departments as appropriate for review.

  • Advise and guide functional owners of IT contracts, to help build the broader organization's capabilities to effectively manage third party suppliers.

  • Direct the activities of IT purchasing managers and buyers throughout the matrix organization, establishing objectives and work plans, delegating assignments and ensuring accountability as appropriate to accomplish company objectives.

  • Continually evaluate IT products, services and vendors to determine improvement or replacement.

  • Research and establish new Keurig IT procurement programs to meet company goals.

  • Make appropriate recommendations to reduce costs and improve processes while leveraging purchasing power.

  • Develop supplier scorecard process and related metrics to assess and manage supplier/vendor performance.

  • Develop SRM (Supplier Relationship Management) capability and model, and review with vendors and management quarterly.

  • Sponsor relationships with key IT suppliers.

  • Furnish appropriate data for use in scheduling, planning, budgeting and other functional activities.

  • Effectively communicate across the organization with all executive levels and operational management to ensure the IT Strategic Procurement function is meeting the goals and objectives of the Keurig enterprise and business units.

  • Maintain full compliance with financial controls and SOX reporting requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience. Master’s degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 10 to 15 years in progressively more senior leadership IT procurement positions in a complex multi-site manufacturing environment.

  • Strongly demonstrated abilities in the areas of: Corporate Social Responsibility, Strategic Planning, Contract Negotiation, Cost Analysis, Vendor Selection and Benchmarking related to all areas of IT strategic purchasing.

  • Demonstrated Project Management experience as Project Leader and cross-functional team participant.

  • Strong written and oral communications skills, appropriate for external and internal C-level audiences

  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to develop/maintain productive business relationships

  • Demonstrated skill to persuade/influence directly and indirectly-both internally and externally to the function.

  • Financial acumen and rapid diagnostic commercial skills.

  • Budget management experience.

  • Advanced negotiation training and skills.
