Job Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our FQT team in Marlborough, Massachusetts. All teams develop software in a variety of languages including C++, C, and several others. Candidates can expect to work on many if not all the phases of the software development life cycle. In this position, you will be responsible for providing practical solutions to difficult technical problems. You can expect to support multiple programs and multiple platforms within a software product line. Position includes working on a variety of different tasks including test and verification, data analysis, software tools development, and others.

This role will be 100% on-site in Marlborough, Massachusetts.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Navigating, creating and updating objects and modules in DOORS.

  • Producing various FQT-related reports (e.g. status, progress, coverage, errors).

  • Decomposing software requirements into verification items (also sometimes known as shall parts or objectives).

  • Developing demonstration test procedures.

  • Identifying test coverage and updating/creating MATLAB scripts to verify tests.

  • Verifying SW requirements by inspection and analysis.

  • Scripting in perl, python, and bash dxl.

  • Monitoring and editing Grafana dashboards.

  • Using Clear-Case tools for CM.

  • Providing feedback to verification items reviews produced by development teams for structure and content.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Proficient in usage of DOORS (navigating, creating or updating objects and modules)

  • Able to produce FQT related reports (e.g. status, progress, coverage, errors)

  • Familiarity with standard FQT related CDRLs, including process of addressing customer comments - Software Test Plan (STP) [DI-IPSC-81438A], Software Test Description (STD) [DI-IPSC-81439A], Software Test Report (STR) [DI-IPSC-81440A]

  • Experience with process of decomposing software requirements into verification items (also sometimes known as shall parts or objectives)

  • Experience with demonstration test procedure development process

  • Experience with SW qualification by inspection and analysis

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with radar domain

  • Proficient with DXL scripting

  • Some exposure to ClearCase

  • Some exposure to data analysis in MATLAB

  • Some exposure to scripting (e.g. perl, python, bash)

  • Some exposure to SQL

  • Experience with RTC and/or Jira

  • Experience with creating standard FQT related CDRLs

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
