Job Description: The Protected Communication Systems Department is involved all aspects of Systems Engineering across the program lifecycle of Protected Communication Systems programs within the Integrated Communications System (ICS) business area. The systems engineering includes architecture development, CONOPS development, trade studies, modeling and simulation, systems/software/hardware requirements analysis, as well as integration, validation and verification. The Department supports a variety of communications systems including SATCOM (including AEHF, EHF, X-Band, Ka-Band, Ku-Band, C-Band, PTW) and networking for ground based, ship, submarine, and airborne platforms. We have a career opportunity for an experienced mid-career Systems Engineer to work in a Security Engineering role; defining, architecting and implementing systems protection requirements and solutions. Duties will include decomposing and defining cyber requirements and system design solutions, providing guidance and direction related to security technologies, performing analysis on cybersecurity related data and test results, preparing and maintaining engineering and security related documentation, presenting to customers and certifying authorities. These duties typically span several security areas including: DIACAP, RMF, NSA, and Program Protection. Required Skills: Minimum 4 years system engineering experience including minimum 1 year of related Security Engineering experience Must have exposure to one of the following domains: NSA Certification, DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process, and/or Risk Management Framework Process Must be able to work within a structured Systems Engineering environment including a task oriented, value based management system Must be able to interact effectively with multidisciplinary teams including electrical, mechanical, software and logistics engineers Must be able to communicate and write effectively Must be a US Citizen able to pass / maintain a DoD Secret security clearance within one year of starting work / ACTIVE clearance is strongly preferred. Desired Skills: Active Secret Clearance Experience with Communication Theory or Systems Active or recent CISSP or equivalent Certification Working experience with DOORS, Rhapsody or similar tools Technical leadership experience Required Education: B.S./B.A. in STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics. Desired Education : Advanced degree is STEM discipline.
