HomeGoods Merchandise Analysis Team:
HomeGoods Merchandise Planning and Analysis (MP&A) is responsible for in depth and complex preparation, analysis, and development of numerous reports which identify merchandising trends and opportunities. MP&A provides Senior Management, Planning & Allocation, and Merchandising information for use in decision making, and partners with these stakeholders to provide recommendations as a result of analysis.
Reports: Create and analyze numerous standard and ad-hoc financial reports designed to identify departmental business opportunities to improve sales, gross profit, and inventory levels. Some of these reports may include: Comp Store Statistics, Open-to-Buy, and On Order Markon.
Initiatives: Collaborate with Merchandising and Core Planning teams to vet sales driving opportunities through product tests. Track performance of merchandise against a control group to determine success. Work with Manager to present findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
Liquidity: Support HG Executive Team with compelling Liquidity analysis using established modeling tools that track order placement, open to buy, average store commitments, and sales/inventory considerations. Contribute to the evolution of process through development of new, streamlined tools that will provide further insight.
Executive “Notes” Support: Assist Manager in gathering key data elements for President’s notes on a recurring basis. These notes provide a snapshot of the many facets of the company’s measurable success: sales performance, liquidity, “Big Rock” tracking, trending areas, seasonal considerations, new stores, OPH. Notes are presented directly to the President of HG upon completion.
2-3 years of business analysis experience
Excellent organizational, analytical, and quantitative skills
Proficient PC and intermediate/advanced spreadsheet skills: Microsoft Office Excel (pivot tables, function logic and lookup/reference formulas and charts), MS Access and PowerPoint a plus
Proactive, detailed-oriented, and results-driven
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
