A Waters Informatics Architect will provide high level support to customers in the area of infrastructure design and implementation planning for the installation and upgrade of the Waters suite of network based Informatics products.
Informatics Architects provide assistance to internal Waters personnel and Waters client accounts. These support services will primarily be within the United State but multi-national support services may occasionally be required.
Provide technical assistance during the discovery, design, and deployment phases of Informatics product deployment projects at identified strategic Waters client accounts.
Provide field based support for advanced technical issues related to the design and support of Waters Informatics products.
Act as a liaison between Waters Informatics marketing, Informatics product management, and field customer support recourses.
Learn the installation and deployment procedures for new Informatics products and distribute this information through the training of other Waters personnel.
Discover and investigate new computer related technologies to determine their impact and value related to Waters Informatics products.
Evaluate field opportunities for Informatics Professional Services and the promotion of these activities to enhance Waters' ability to add value for our clients.
Work with other Waters personnel to ensure the efficient completion of customer Informatics projects.
BA/BS Degree in Computer Science, Chemistry, or a related Life Science
Minimum of 5 years experience specializing in laboratory networked Informatics software
Minimum of 3 years experience deploying and supporting Waters or similar Informatics products
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Extensive experience with and support of Microsoft operating systems, Oracle, Linux, and VMware with a minimum of at least two recognized IT certifications in these topics
Experience supporting computer technologies within regulated pharmaceutical businesses
Strong time management, decision making, and problem diagnosis skills
Accepting of significant local, out of town, and international travel if required
Recognized proficiency for the delivery of Informatics product solutions
Travel is required (30-50%), includes local and overnight
A strong customer focus and highly motivated to promote successful business partnerships
The ability to communicate with different expertise levels appropriately and change your approach to meet customers’ needs
Strong knowledge base for technologies like operating systems, Oracle databases, and infrastructure implementations and the extension of that knowledge to design effective Informatics infrastructure to meet customer needs
