The Project Manager is part of Baxalta Milford’s Business Excellence group and provides business and technical leadership for high-priority and cross-functional projects to support the Commercial Biologic Manufacturing facility’s business strategy and key initiatives. The Project Manager will represent the Milford site as part of Baxalta’s Global Project Management Office (PMO) and will have responsibility for the full spectrum of project management, from defining project scope through execution and reporting on project deliverables.
PMP certification and demonstrated experience with PM tools and processes.
Exposure to and knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma principles and practices.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional project teams comprised of technical and nontechnical personnel and manage critical, time-sensitive situations. Ability to select, build, motivate and influence a team in a dynamic environment with rapidly-changing priorities.
Strong communication and influencing skills, including ability to simplify complex projects and programs and communicate to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Strong computer skills including MS Office and MS Project.
Demonstrated passion to innovate, challenge the status quo, and drive for solutions.
Must have uncompromising dedication to quality.
Knowledge of CGMP manufacturing, basic lab and pharmaceutical production equipment strongly preferred.
Lead diverse cross functional teams on projects of varying levels of complexity, as defined by the needs of the business.
Act as liaison to senior management and other internal and external stakeholders including Baxalta’s global Project Management Office.
Participate in the evaluation and feasibility process for potential projects.
Understand site’s deliverables and impact of project to improve the ability to produce Obizur successfully
Define and communicate scope of work for project team. Plan and schedule project implementation and related timelines.
Define project resource requirements and negotiate team assignments with functional managers.
Drive overall project performance including integration of project activities, project resources, creating and managing budgets, communications to all stakeholders and project final results.
Provide leadership to evaluate and resolve barriers to team/project progress. Anticipate potential conflict situations, identify and act on proactive solutions.
Coach, mentor and train key personnel within the organization in support of project or program deliverables.
Serve as a champion of Baxalta’s Project Management Methodology (PMM) and associated Project Management Office (PMO) processes, recognizing how project results impact the overall success of the organization.
Develop and monitor risk mitigation plans to ensure business and project objectives are met
Create and manage standard performance metrics throughout all phases from initiation to scale-up.
Maximize business results by championing and participating in Continuous Improvement initiatives, maximizing organization's ability to execute projects and programs.
Provide input to the program prioritization process and participate in other key strategic business portfolio processes to ensure funding for the objective.
Ensure project teams decisions do not adversely impact site and Obizur processes
BS in Science or Engineering required.
8-10 years work experience with > 3 year of those years in a regulated industry and 4-5 in a direct people management or matrix management role
PMP certification preferred
<10% travel for business reasons (e.g. training, vendor visits, etc.)
