IT BUSINESS ANALYST

The IT Business Analyst is responsible for delivering the following to support the BJ’s project portfolio and ongoing needs of the business, with a primary focus on:

  • Leading discovery activities with business partners to understand objectives, business process impact, possible system needs and alignment to BJ’s strategy

  • Applying solution knowledge and requirements elicitation techniques to develop models and documentation to represent current and target views for a functional area

  • Business and functional requirements definition and management, including use case documentation

  • Identification, definition and implementation of new business processes and software solutions

  • Vendor and/or software package evaluation, selection and implementation

  • Developing user acceptance test strategy and scripts, with coordination of test execution and reporting of results

  • Developing measurements, evaluating results and making recommendations to drive continuous improvement of operational performance

  • Organizational change management to support business readiness and preparedness for transition to steady state for system and/or process changes

  • Collaborating effectively with the shared service solutions team, leadership across IT and functional areas, and with third party providers

  • Maintaining and modifying documentation in accordance with documentation requirements

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of related experience as a business analyst is required

  • Experience in analytical problem solving and business case development

  • Experience translating business requirements to detailed functional requirements with traceability

  • Experience developing test cases and testing strategy

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including meeting/workshop facilitation skills

  • Basic understanding of Project Life Cycle and QA concepts, methodologies and documentation standards

  • Advanced MS-Word, Excel and Visio skills are required

  • Experience with use case modeling, process flows, and process decomposition diagramming is strongly desired

  • Experience with HP Quality Center (HPQC) or equivalent for testing/defect management is a plus

  • Experience working within an Agile environment and writing user stories is a plus

  • Direct experience with SAP (finance / merchandising) is a plus

  • Previous Retail experience is a plus

  • Lean Six Sigma certification, Project Management Professional (PMP) or Business Analysis certification is a plus
