Community Healthlink Relief Residential Counselor - Faith House in Worcester, Massachusetts

Faith House: Faith House is dedicated to helping women and their families recover from addiction to alcohol and/or drugs. Faith House provides a variety of rehabilitative services in a supportive residential environment. This 6-month program serves more than 25 women who are linked to community resources that help them and their families regain and maintain a stable lifestyle.

Because substance abuse devastates not only the individual, but the family and the community as well, Faith House provides education about addiction, self-esteem, and coping skills. Treatment plans are designed to meet the specific needs of each woman and stress individual empowerment. An interdisciplinary team provides therapeutic services and individual counseling.

Faith House features a pregnancy component for pregnant and post-partum women in recovery. Faith House also provides services for women who have recently been released from a state correctional facility and who have a substance abuse problem.

  • Maintain safety on shift and complete house and program tasks as directed.

  • Monitor and document medication as needed according to MAP protocols.

  • Provide crisis intervention and support.

  • Advocacy, treatment planning and facilitating groups.

  • Working with residents to maintain the residence on a daily basis including chores, grocery shopping/carrying groceries into the kitchen, bedroom upkeep, laundry to include carrying to and from washer/dryer, yard work, and other moderate housekeeping duties.

  • Driving clients to and from AA/NA meetings

  • Administering medications

  • Assisting clients in Activities for Daily Living

  • Maintaining a small caseload

  • Documenting in the form of daily logs, group logs, session notes

  • Must be able pass required trainings including Medication Administration Program (MAP), CPR and First Aid

  • Grade 6: Residential Counselor II: Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology or human services degree.

  • Will consider Bachelor's degree in non-related field with human services experience.

  • Grade 5: Residential Counselor I: Associates degree in Human Services or High School Diploma/GED/ HiSet plus 1 years experience.

  • Knowledge of addiction and 12-step recovery.

  • Current valid US-issued driver's license and ability to provide registered and insured automobile for work related purposes including transporting clients

  • Must be able to pass a CORI (Criminal Offender Background Check) and a an DCF/CPS (Department of Families Adam Walsh/Child Protective Services background check)
