Provide day-to-day maintenance, administration, and support of desktop applications and business systems to enhance productivity, communications and information accessibility throughout the Museum. Improve Service Desk quality of service by mentoring junior team members, orienting end users to new technology, onboarding new staff members, and participating in small projects to improve IT infrastructure at the Museum. Resolve hardware/software conflicts as well as basic network troubleshooting. Handle user support questions regarding various software programs. Serve as technical resource in development of new solutions and implementation of new systems.


  • Provide information systems administration and application support as needed to ensure continuous and effective operations.

  • Create and/or implement technical solutions for individual project components as needed to make the technology fit the business need.

  • Provide documentation and training for technical solutions to support ongoing operational support by junior level support staff and Museum-wide technological literacy.

  • Analyze and resolve technical compatibility issues amongst multiple systems and recommend solutions that are consistent with Museum standards.

  • Develop and maintain knowledge of Museum computer systems and share this knowledge with customers to promote computing literacy and efficient use of technology.

  • Maintain network security and access to resources by creating, editing and/or deleting user accounts, network shares and e-mail lists with attention to appropriate security procedures.

  • Participate in ensuring the stability of all Museum information systems with teamwork and professionalism, including, but not limited to, carrying and responding to a pager or cell phone and being available when needed for critical system support.

  • Network/ patching/ cabling.


This position is full-time, 40 hours/week, Sunday-Thursday.


Director, IT Services


  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Windows and/or Apple operating systems, hardware and general computer operation required.

  • Basic domain network administration ability with Microsoft Active Directory and other domain network applications

  • Experience using and maintaining endpoint management and remote troubleshooting tools

  • Demonstrated customer service/support experience

  • Demonstrated listening and problem solving ability

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

  • Familiarity with Microsoft SharePoint, Outlook and Office productivity tools

  • Experience with work order tracking systems

  • Ability to prioritize


Exempt (Salaried). $60,000-65,000 / year
