The Department of Conservation and Recreation seeks qualified applicants for the position ofProgram Coordinator II – Research Assistant, located at 10 Park Plaza, Boston, MA. GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The Research Assistant will process Research Proposals and Agreements, add content to the Research Management System, and help coordinate DCR staff research efforts. * * DETAILED STATEMENT OF JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Receive Research Proposals and review for completeness. * For incomplete proposals, contact the applicant to complete the proposal. * Coordinate proposal reviews with appropriate DCR staff to determine proposal merits and relevance, obtain recommended conditions, and identify the site-specific point(s) of contact. * In conjunction with the Research Coordinator, determine if the proposals merit a DCR Research Agreement and if so, subject to what conditions. * Notify the proposal applicant of the Research Office decision. * Provide the approved proposal applicants and the DCR points of contact with the Research Agreement. * Collaborate with the Research Coordinator to ensure the Research Agreement’s conditions are met. * Maintain and contribute to the Research Management System database. * Update the Research Management System dashboard. * Assist with new web-based applications for the Research Office. * Provide the Research Coordinator and Director with regular updates about new Research Proposals and Research Agreement progress. * Other duties as assigned. * * PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Experience with charts, graphs, and tables. * Experience with ArcGIS and ArcGIS Online applications * Experience writing narrative summaries of charts, graphs, and tables. * Experience working with large databases. * Experience building rapport with others. * Experience adjusting to change. * High attention to detail and organization in administrative tasks. * Experience translating technical and or scientific information to the public. * Ability to use sound judgment. First consideration will be given to those applicants that apply within the first 14 days. * *Minimum Entrance Requirements: Applicants must have at least (A) three years of full time, or equivalent part-time, professional, administrative or managerial experience in business administration, business management or public administration the major duties of which involved program management, program administration, program coordination, program planning and/or program analysis, or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below. Substitutions: I. A Bachelor's degree with a major in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for a maximum of two years of the required experience.* II. A Graduate degree with a major in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for the required experience.* III.
