State of Massachusetts MRC Connect Supervisor in 600 Washington Street, Massachusetts

MRC Connect integrates Vocational Rehabilitation, Supported Living, Home Care Assistance Program (HCAP), Statewide Head Injury Program (SHIP), and Chapter 688’s intake and eligibility determination into one consolidated process that enhances the consumer’s experience when applying for these services.MRC is seeking full-time, highly motivated, and qualified individuals for the MRC Connect position of_Supervisor_. An ideal candidate will be responsible for andin a virtual setting, the day-to-day operations of eligibility processes performed by MRC Connect personnel. The Supervisor will monitor the virtual team activities and effective delivery of MRC Connect processes and approval of eligibility determinations. The Supervisor must have excellent problem-solving skills and ability to effectively solve escalated issues for diverse consumers, and have expert knowledge of all federal, state, and agency policies and procedures related to eligibility determination. The Supervisor will be responsible for maintaining a harmonious relationship within the MRC Connect, with external stakeholders, and other MRC programs. Ensure high team performance in remote working environments as needed, specifically ensuring capacity of workforce to use all available technology tools and resources to support delivering on the program and agency mission. The Supervisor is data driven, responsible for learning and staying up to date on MRC’s diversity, equity, inclusion and racial equity skills, results, and expectations specific to MRC Connect. MRC has approximately 800 employees working in a hybrid remote and in-office environment. /Supervision:/Individual at this level receives direct supervision from the MRC Connect Assistant Director, who provides broad strategic and policy guidance, assigns work and reviews performance through reports and metrics for effectiveness and conformance with MRC’s mission, goals, and policy. * Supervisor is fluent in English but preferred to have bilingual /translation experience to support consumers and MRC team. * This is a virtual and remote position; teleworking may be required 90% of time and travel may be required 40% of the time for meeting offsite at various locations. /Direct Reporting Staff:/Eligibility Screeners and Interpreter. _Duties and Responsibilities (these duties are a general summary and not all inclusive)_: * Execute MRC’s MRC Connect vision, goals, and expectations as directed by the MRC Connect Director * Supervise the day to day management of the eligibility processes. Manage and assign task assignments to staff and support coordination of referrals, applications, eligibility determinations, etc. and managing the workflow across the team. Oversee staff calendars, appointments, and other external contacts as necessary. * Approve or deny eligibility determinations and communicate with the appropriate parties on eligibility statuses, and direct appeal cases as needed * As needed, conduct intake appointments for consumers deemed to present particular difficult challenges, such as, persons with multiple disabilities; persons who have been unsuccessful with other rehabilitation counselors; persons who have an extended history with the agency, to insure provision of appropriate services. * Responsible for other related duties as assigned by the director, this may include, but not limited to, supporting customer service advisors, supporting information navigators and initial contact of consumers, reviewing reports and dashboards, analyzing metrics, proactively making recommendations on operational improvements to director, etc. _Preferred Qualifications_: * General knowledge and understanding of the disability community in Massachusetts and on the Federal level. * Experience and knowledge of the Americans with Disability Act (ADA), and other pertinent disability/civil rights legislation * Knowledge of and experience in diversity, equity, inclusion, and racial equity and effective engagement across differences. * Proficient usage of Microsoft Office products including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook as well as technologies supporting a remote workplace (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams). * Knowledge of the tenants of a learning organization culture, experience leading and engaging in participatory processes and the ability to develop strategic plans with a continuous quality improvement approach. * Critical thinking to identify problems and develop paths for correction. Ability to remediate and resolve issues as related to work duties and performance. * Leadership ability including the ability to articulate organizational mission, goals, vision, strategic direction, and change management. * Solid written and oral communication skills and proficiency establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with a variety of diverse consumers, families, staff, and organizations. * Ability to coach and develop personnel by identifying the developmental needs of others and coaching or otherwise helping others to improve their knowledge and skills. * Ability to develop a team by encouraging and building mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members. MRC Connect is a virtual team. Based on assignment, travel is required; incumbents who elect to use a motor vehicle for travel must have a current and valid motor vehicle driver’s license at a class level specific to assignment.
