Position Overview OMG currently operates in two Divisions: OMG Roofing Products and FastenMaster?. OMG Roofing Products is a leading global manufacturer and supplier of value-added components for the commercial roofing industry. The FastenMaster Division manufactures and markets innovative, premium quality wood-to-wood fasteners that are engineered to enable professional contractors to complete building projects safer, faster, and easier. The Group Leader helps coordinate maintenance activities on his or her shift and works with other Group Leaders to coordinate a smooth transition between shifts. This key position helps to build teams and develop employees by mentoring, training, and supporting production and quality needs by ensuring that demand is met accurately and timely. The successful Group Leader is focused on achieving machine up-time, production, quality, safety, and continuous improvement goals. Position Responsibilities Promote Safety as the Number One priority of all OMG employees. Conduct regular safety meetings with the work group. Assist with identifying and scheduling daily work necessary to achieve production, quality, and maintenance goals. Direct work of maintenance mechanics as requested by a supervisor or manager, and delegate work orders to be completed on shift. Support training of new and existing maintenance mechanics, including cross-training to develop depth within the department. Provide direction to maintenance staff and set expected goals. Manage, motivate, develop, and provide direct leadership to mechanical maintenance staff. Ensures maintenance and repair work is completed safely, effectively, and in a timely manner. Assists team members with technical issues or advanced problems with given assignments. Recommend improvements to equipment performance and maintenance schedule(s) Regularly check and inspect work orders completed and verify work order(s) are completed correctly within CMMS. Make spare parts recommendations based on experience, trends, and OEM recommendations. Regularly check spare parts inventory and place orders when needed. Communicate directly with suppliers, request quotes when needed, and make recommendations to management. Perform other tasks as assigned. Requirements Position Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. 5 years\' experience within a maintenance department, hands-on, lead, or supervisor. Ability to be the go-between for production and maintenance. Demonstrated record of compliance with company policies. Good written and verbal communication. Ability to solve practical problems and prioritize workloads. Ability to work and contribute as part of a team. Understanding of CMMS. Good people skills and willingness not only to teach and help others but an interest in working with and learning from others. Positive can-do attitude.
