Job Description SUMMARY Operates lab press to create printed samples according to customer specifications as requested by the Design, Sales, Quality, and Production Departments. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned, as needed. Lab Press Operation - Understand the workings of the Lab Press and become fluent in its overall operation. - Receive and process lab requests from several sources and individuals. - Show understanding and ability to match color. - Analyze and adjust ink formulations to achieve proper colors. - Make laminates using customer specifications. - Change from design to design using lab cylinders. - Interact with customers during visits to achieve desired results. - Complete requests in a professional and thorough manner. - Keep accurate records for all completed requests, both electronically and on lab packets. - Communicate necessary information to other departments as needed. - Support other departments by providing complete and accurate work. Other Responsibilities - Keep the lab area clean and presentable. - Store completed lab job roll ups in tubes on the mezzanine. - File completed lab packets on shelves on the mezzanine. - Remove and return lab cylinders from the lab cylinder rack. - Maintain lab press as required. - Handle lab work requests in a thorough, productive, timely, and accurate manner. - Safely set up and operate a table saw according to manufacturer instructions. - Complete all Surteco NA safety training in a timely manner. - Proper use of all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). - Work safely in accordance with all safety guidelines and procedures. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilities. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions in one-on-one and small group settings from managers, employees, and/or customers. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to read, analyze and interpret requests for lab work. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure. Ability to accurately use and read a tape measure. Ability to calculate figures and amounts, such as measurements and volumes, for basic mathematical situations and problems. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Make decisions on the completion of items to be sent to customers for approval. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Maintain a valid Driver?s License EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. Must possess color matching skills (recognizing and identifying colors), and mechanical aptitude.
