Position Summary

This is a leadership opportunity to use advanced analytics to support Johnson & Johnson vaccines (COVID-19, Ebola and HIV) and make substantial public health impact in vulnerable and underserved populations. This individual will support senior level decision-making, develop an integrated data strategy, and lead advanced analytics across multiple public health efforts.


  • Priority responsibility is to provide strategic analytics support for the Vaccines Access Strategy & Impact team, with a near-term focus on the COVID-19 vaccine candidate. Integrate multiple data streams to create a dynamic, prescriptive global forecast driven by policy guidelines. Identify potential vaccine deployment barriers to inform research and recommend optimizations to the global implementation plan.

  • Develop a coordinated data strategy to inform COVID-19 vaccine deployment, improving the mix of new and existing data sources. Assemble a comprehensive view of the most relevant data sources available globally. Explore data-related opportunity gaps and evaluate potential partnership opportunities with the most developed data management organizations in public health. Develop a roadmap and lead the implementation plan for operationalizing the data strategy.

  • Develop a comprehensive, human-centered data strategy for the Consumer-Centered Strategy & Innovation team, to help solve high priority challenges across multiple therapeutic focus areas. Help guide the efficient deployment of resources for J&J innovations, improve patient finding capabilities, generate patient insights and help unlock future opportunities. Explore opportunity gaps where J&J might be able to play a greater leadership role externally. Recommend the most appropriate role(s) that J&J should play in the broader ecosystem of public health analytics.

  • Lead a small team of full or part-time analytics strategists providing support across several GPH therapeutic areas, including but not limited to HIV, Tuberculosis, Mental Health and Essential Surgery.


  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience across a broad spectrum of analytics, from descriptive to prescriptive. Solid grasp of advanced analytics tools, machine learning, forecast modeling and visualization platforms is required.

  • Experience developing and managing a comprehensive data strategy. Developing a comprehensive understanding of business needs and then translating those needs optimally into relevant solutions and standard methodologies is required.

  • Strong leadership ability managing complex projects. A proven track record of encouraging collaboration, building confidence and translating esoteric knowledge into persuasive, easy-to-follow communications is required.

  • People management experience in the subject area of data and analytics is required.

  • Experience gathering, cleaning, transforming, warehousing and troubleshooting data is required.

  • Knowledge of epidemiology and public health data sources is preferred.

  • Bachelor's Degree is required.

  • A minimum of eight years of relevant experience is required.

  • This position may require up to 10% domestic and/or international travel.
