Position Summary 

Invaluable is seeking an experienced product leader to create unique, trusted, and well-loved buying experiences for collectors as well as world-class selling experiences for our auction houses partners. Over the past few years, Invaluable (a double-sided marketplace for auctions) has grown tremendously and the product is at an exciting inflection point as we develop more features and tools to enable personalized and relevant recommendations, reimagine the discovery and bidding experience, and become an indispensable resource for the millions of collectors around the globe. 

The VP of Product will report to the CEO and work collaboratively with the heads of engineering, marketing, operations, sales, and customer care at Invaluable to set and deliver on a robust, multi-year product strategy. The role will lead and grow a talented team of product managers, engineers, sales, and designers and will be at the center of building a culture of speed, curiosity, diversity, and fun. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Translate the Invaluable vision, objective, and strategies into actionable product roadmaps for both the supply and demand sides of the marketplace 

  • Lead and build a highly motivated product management team to develop new and bold features and offerings that drive collector growth, retention, and loyalty while improving partner satisfaction 

  • Champion and cultivate an inclusive, team-oriented, and thriving culture that seeks out diverse viewpoints, encourages initiative and learning, and rewards great teamwork 

  • Drive a flexible, experimental, data focused, and resourceful team of product managers that can balance short-term goals with the long-term strategy; use data to make decisions; and drive toward successful outcomes.  

  • Understand the landscape for online auction marketplaces, position, and strengths relative to competitors  

  • Work directly with senior leadership to design and execute overall product strategy and roadmaps  

  • Partner with sales to build experiences that help close deals  

  • Collaborate closely with leadership, engineering, UX/design, sales, marketing, operations to achieve the product goals for the business.   

REQUIREMENTS:  

  • 8+ years of consumer product management experience in ecommerce/marketplace environment 

  • Bachelor’s in related field. MBA a plus!  

  • Good eye for UX that create compelling experiences 

  • Ability to see beyond the current advertising/auction landscape and anticipate innovation to unlock future opportunities 

  • Able to operate at both a strategic and executional level, leveraging both quantitative and qualitative data to help you plan and make decisions   

  • Effective communication skills with the ability to partner and build solid relationships across the organization
