Job Summary

The Assistant Director – CMASS (Center for Multicultural Advancement and Student Success) position provides culturally responsive coaching sessions and complimentary programs to support the learning and development of students from historically underrepresented identities.

Essential Functions

  • Guides students in identifying goals and action plans to meet their identity, personal, academic, and professional goals.

  • Designs and facilitates workshops/seminars to promote student belonging and development.

  • Provides resource referrals to promote student success and degree completion goals.

  • Provides complimentary programs in collaboration with campus partners.

  • Maintains and organizes accurate program records.

  • Maintains knowledge of current trends in DEI and student support in higher education, technology, and data driven systems for efficient service delivery and produce reports.

Other Functions

  • Performs related duties as assigned or required. Understands responsibilities with respect to Title IX, Clery and other compliance requirements.

  • Demonstrates capacity, skill, and willingness to engage students and contribute to student success.

  • Understands responsibilities with respect to conflicts of interest and behaves in ways consistent both with law and with University policy.

  • Contributes toward creating a positive and respectful workplace. Uses access to sensitive and/or not yet public university related information only in the performance of the responsibilities of position and exercises care to prevent unnecessary disclosure to others.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure)

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • Three (3) years experience working in higher education.

  • Experience supporting the development of students from underrepresented populations.

  • Knowledge of social justice principles.

  • Experience with basic office software including Microsoft Suite, Teams, and Zoom.

Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure)

  • Experience providing service with coaching perspective, training in coaching, coaching certification.

  • Bilingual.

  • Ability to utilize/learn new software.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions

Typical Office Environment.

Work Schedule

Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm; some nights and weekends required.
