Under the direction of the Director of Facilities Services, the Custodial Operations Supervisor (COS) performs administrative and operational responsibilities for the Facilities Services Department of the Auxiliary Enterprises Division during weekends, evening hours and some daytime hours as required. The COS functions as the Director of Facilities Services in his/her absence.
Responsible for administrative and operations of the functioning of the Auxiliary Enterprises Facilities Services department during evening hours.
Coordinate and oversee the activities of the second and third shift custodial staff within the Division. Set standards for work performance and oversee compliance with the standardized custodial program.
Assist in the development, implementation and evaluation of Facilities Services policies and procedures as well as staff training programs.
Serve as the primary liaison with the Campus Activities Office staff and student organizations sponsoring evening and weekend events in the Auxiliary Enterprises Facilities Services department. Assist all other departments in the Division in serving guests during evening and weekend hours.
Participate in the planning of major events in the Auxiliary Enterprises Facilities Services department in terms of safety, security, and staffing.
Interact with and call upon other campus departments (i.e., Physical Plant, Public Safety, Campus Activities Office, and Conference Services) as necessary to ensure smooth functioning of the Auxiliary Enterprises Facilities Services department during evening and weekend hours.
Respond to emergency, security, maintenance, or other operational emergencies within the Auxiliary Enterprises Facilities Services department, taking appropriate steps to correct the problem, safeguard the occupants of the Auxiliary Enterprises Facilities Services department and maintain services in an orderly fashion.
Maintain log of issues, incidents, etc. incurred during evening and weekend hours; prepare reports and inventory records as required.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure)
Associate’s degree and five (5) years of related experience or a High School diploma and seven (7) years of related experience in custodial facilities management.
CPR Training Certification required.
Strong communication skills (oral and written).
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure)
Bachelor’s degree in related field.
Knowledge of union agreements and the ability to foster a harmonious relationship with various campus labor groups.
Physical Demands/Working Conditions
Requires the ability to balance, drive, carry, push, pull, stand, bend, reach, twist, lift and perform repetitive movements.
This position is designated as essential personnel.
Varies depending on dept. needs; may be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
