Job Summary

The Research Technician will engage in research activities related to a NIEHS K99/R00 award focused on reducing dietary exposure to PFAS and mitigating their associated toxicity using clay-based sorbent materials. The positions require general knowledge of analytical chemistry, cell biology, bioassay models, animal models, and data analysis.

Essential Functions

  • Conducting experiments in cell and animal models, following protocol.

  • Maintaining routine cultures of living organisms in the lab according to established protocols.

  • Operating analytical equipment, such as HPLC, LC-MS/MS, SEM, etc, in accordance with protocol.

  • Analyzing data from experiments.

  • Assisting in lab management tasks, such as ordering supplies, managing inventory, responding to lab inspections, etc.

    Other Functions

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure)

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant fields such as toxicology, biomedical sciences, environmental health, public health, etc.

  • Previous experience in primary cell culture and animal work.

  • Clear oral and written communication skills in English.

  • Ability to conduct independent research and exhibit problem-solving skills.

  • Organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize work assignment.

  • Typical office environment.

    Work Schedule

  • 40 hours/week, Monday - Friday; Variable Schedule.

  • This is a temporary, non-benefited position.

    Salary Information

  • $18.00/hour
