Job Summary
The Research Technician will engage in research activities related to a NIEHS K99/R00 award focused on reducing dietary exposure to PFAS and mitigating their associated toxicity using clay-based sorbent materials. The positions require general knowledge of analytical chemistry, cell biology, bioassay models, animal models, and data analysis.
Essential Functions
Conducting experiments in cell and animal models, following protocol.
Maintaining routine cultures of living organisms in the lab according to established protocols.
Operating analytical equipment, such as HPLC, LC-MS/MS, SEM, etc, in accordance with protocol.
Analyzing data from experiments.
Assisting in lab management tasks, such as ordering supplies, managing inventory, responding to lab inspections, etc.
Other Functions
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure)
Bachelor's degree in relevant fields such as toxicology, biomedical sciences, environmental health, public health, etc.
Previous experience in primary cell culture and animal work.
Clear oral and written communication skills in English.
Ability to conduct independent research and exhibit problem-solving skills.
Organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize work assignment.
Physical Demands/Working Conditions
Typical office environment.
Work Schedule
40 hours/week, Monday - Friday; Variable Schedule.
This is a temporary, non-benefited position.
Salary Information
$18.00/hour
