Job Summary

The Warehouse Assistant (Technical Assistant I) provides assistance to the Facilities Coordinator & Warehouse Manager in support of warehouse activities including receiving and distributing materials, supplies and equipment; ensures security and control of materials and equipment; maintains physical and computerized database tracking of inventory and ensures accurate inventory records of Information Technology (IT) property for the University’s property office.

Essential Functions

  • Issues inventory to technicians, jobs and projects as required. Provides reports on inventory status and disbursement.

  • Maintains computerized database of property and inventory. Conducts weekly physical inventories.

  • Receives warehouse inventory. Maintains security and control of inventory in multiple locations.

  • Assists with delivery of materials, supplies and equipment to campus job sites.

  • Provides functional oversight of student assistants moving, shelving and delivering warehouse inventory.

Other Functions

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure)

  • One (1) year of related experience.

  • Knowledge of microcomputer applications in word processing, database management, spreadsheet analysis and data entry.

  • Ability to work independently; to organize, plan and prioritize workload with a minimum of supervision; and to exercise sound judgment.

  • Good communications skills, both written and oral; experience in written correspondence; ability to act as representative of Telecommunications to the public.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Ability to maintain accurate and complex records in written and computerized formats.

  • Class D Driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure)

  • Experience working with IT hardware and inventory.

  • Experience working with IT technician.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions

  • Balancing, carrying, pulling/pushing, standing, bending, driving, reaching, sitting and lifting.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Work Schedule

  • Monday - Friday, 37.5 hours.

  • 9:00am - 5:00pm.

Salary Information

USA Non-Exempt Grade 12
