Insight Global Power Systems Engineer in Andover, Massachusetts

Job Description

Insight Global is sourcing for a Power Systems Engineer for a large energy management and engineering automation company. This organization is responsible for working directly with end customers to lead project teams to develop solutions that align with the power protection for business critical equipment and applications. You will do this by visiting client sites like commercial buildings, data centers, and industrial facilities, etc. Your responsibilities include assessing customers' technical needs and objectives, and delivering solutions that align with project specifications, scope of work, schedule, and budget. After gathering end users requirements needed for enhancements, you will develop proposals, draft up technical reports, and overall execute the project. This individual must have an electrical engineering background, and be familiar with both Power Controls and the Automation field.

This position is primarily remote, working a standard 40 hours/week. It is required to conduct at least 30-50% travel to the customer sites within the region you are based out of. Compensation for this position is $110k - $140k per year annually, with the opportunity to earn a 10% bonus. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Skills and Requirements

  • Engineering Bachelor's degree

      * 5+ years' experience as a Power Systems Engineer, Automation Engineer, and/or Controls engineer

      * Experienced with power system/controls engineering including PLCs like Allen Bradley, ABB, etc

      * Development experience with protective relay schemes and/or controls

      * Experience working with internal teams and external clients onsite at the locations

      * Industry experience in commercial buildings, industrial facilities, data center, utilities & renewal energy sites

      * Ability to travel 30-50% per year within the region the individual is located * Professional Engineer (PE) license

      * Experience in switchgear automation, electrical power quality assessment, ATO programming, relay programming and commissioning, electrical maintenance and testing, electrical power system studies, and electrical distribution design.

      * Ability to analyze and interpret engineering documents, codes and standards, technical procedures.
