Job Description

Raytheon Technologies has an opportunity for an energetic, motivated, level-headed and self-directed Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S) professional to support our ongoing compliance and risk reduction efforts at the Andover, MA site. This complex manufacturing site offers the EHS professional opportunity to work with manufacturing and support teams to foster employee engagement, and drive risk reduction and continuous improvement of the EH&S program.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Recognizing, evaluating, and controlling hazardous workplace conditions

  • Taking proactive steps to ensure the safety and health of site employees and influencing safe behaviors

  • Working with subject matter experts to assure compliance with applicable federal, state, local and company EHS requirement

  • Execute initiatives, programs, reports, and trainings across multiple EH&S disciplines, as required to achieve and maintain compliance.

  • Auditing and evaluating current policies, procedures, and documentation to assure compliance with applicable laws and regulations

  • Investigating, analyzing, and interpreting data from injuries and near-misses ensuring corrective actions are completed on time, and all necessary documentation is in place

  • Interact with employees and promote relationships, learn the tasks employees perform and be known as a resource to the employees at the site. Work toward building partnerships and influencing across assigned areas to provide actionable improvement programs.

  • Position requires limited travel for participation in Company seminars, EHS audits and training opportunities.

  • Must be willing and able to respond to emergencies after hours as needed on an infrequent basis

  • This position is at Job Level P3.

Basic Qualifications Required:

  • 5 years applicable EHS experience or advanced degree with 3 years of applicable experience

  • Industrial hygiene experience

    • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications we Prefer:

  • Previous experience in managing EHS issues in a union work environment

  • Industrial hygiene experience, including gas detection systems and exposure monitoring

  • Experience successfully working independently and within a team environment.

  • Strong verbal, written and presentation communication skills

  • Strong computer skills, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Experience with EHS issues in a complex semiconductor facility, or similar

  • Project management and execution skills

Required Education (including Major):

  • Typically requires BS/BA degree in Safety, Engineering, Science, or Mathematics or other related field of study
Desired Education:

  • MS/MA degree in Safety, Engineering, Science, or Mathematics or other related field of study

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
