About Us:

The Program Supplier Quality Engineer (PSQE) will perform supplier facing quality engineering, in support of assigned Program(s). The PSQE will work across Hardware Management Teams, Supply Chain, Operations and Engineering activities to analyze, control, and improve product quality.

What you will do:

  • Be the primary point of contact for supplier quality strategy and related issues for their assigned program(s)

  • Analyze product performance using statistical methods to understand root cause and identify significant variances to the technical data packages

  • Perform analyses of nonconformities to identify root cause, establish effective containment and elimination plans, and develop/monitor corrective actions

  • Assure clear identification, physical control and competent disposition of nonconformities

  • Interpreting purchase order quality notes and quality requirements to ensure subcontractor/supplier understanding

  • Ensuring flow down of Product requirements both internally and to sub-tier suppliers and ensuring compliance with quality requirements

  • Assessing subcontractor/supplier quality capabilities throughout the program life cycle to achieve full program objectives

  • Facilitate corrective actions, closed loop process controls and continuous improvement methods to improve product/process predictability and capability

  • Participate in Program Reviews, Supplier Reviews, and Technical Interchange Meetings

  • Participate in supplier design reviews, process change reviews, qualification test reviews, supplier audits as well as Test Equipment verification and validation

  • Assign quality requirements to purchased parts based upon internal command media and program requirements.

  • Participate in supplier audits.

  • Report their program(s) supplier quality monthly.

  • Issue and oversee SCARs (Supplier Corrective Action Requests).

  • Travel expected < 30%.

Qualifications you must have:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Quality Assurance or Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) or other related

  • Minimum of five (5) years of related Quality Engineering, manufacturing or related engineering experience

  • Experience in Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action (RCCA)

  • Experience with Lean/Six Sigma or other methodologies and tools for continuous improvement

  • Previous experience communicating technical requirements to supplier base to optimize product quality

  • Experience with Statistical Process Control methods (SPC), techniques, implementation, and review of data to drive process improvement

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications we prefer:

  • Independent, self-motivated individual with demonstrated success

  • Experience with SAP ERP System is a plus

  • Experience with one of the following ISO 9001, AS9100, AS9102, CMMI or Mission Assurance Provisions

  • Experience with Circuit Card Assembly, Precision Machined Products, Mechanical, Hi-Reliability Electronics or RF product aptitude

  • High degree of competence in mechanical inspection techniques

  • General knowledge of aerospace / defense products and systems technologies

  • General knowledge of industry technical standards (such as ANSI, CMMI, ASTM, etc.)

  • Six Sigma, Lean and / or American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certification (CQE, CQM/OE, CSQE, CQA, CRE, etc.)

  • MS Engineering / Technical or MBA

  • Familiarity with and Expertise in Preventative tools – APQP, SPC, FMEA, QFD, etc.

  • Level 5 Mission Assurance Certification (Internal candidates)

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
