The following position is to join our RTX Corporate Team:
The Project Manager, Legal Operations role will be joining the Corporate Legal, Contracts, & Compliance team within the Outside Counsel Engagement team and will assist with creating and managing value-based fee arrangements with law firms and vendors.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Legal, Contracts, & Compliance Corporate functions and business units to maintain and identify areas of improvement for consolidated fee arrangements, as well as ensure the stakeholders for such arrangements are kept informed of utilization. This role requires constant collaboration with in-house attorneys, paralegals, non-legal professionals, supply chain, billing coordinators, government accounting, law firms, and vendors. This role will work closely with the business units on reporting metrics, creating streamlined processes, and developing training to follow Outside Counsel Engagement processes.
What You Will Do
Serving as the Subject Matter Expert, champion, and trainer on alternative fee (value-based) arrangements
Developing, analyzing, and communicating metrics on portfolios, alternative fee arrangements, and legal spend; support audits as necessary
Addressing Outside Counsel, vendor, and RTX attorney/in-house support inquiries related fee arrangements
Preparing competitive Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Statement of Work (SOW), analyzing data, and presenting a best value source selection to relevant stakeholders
Assisting with law firm rate negotiations and recording
Assisting with obtaining conflict waivers with requesting law firms, relevant stakeholders, and the Vice-President of Litigation
Serving as the escalation point for law firm and legal vendor billing concerns
Owning the process to properly review, approve, and onboard new law firms
Organizing and managing the Legal, Contracts, & Compliance subscriptions and legal services
Developing standard processes in the Legal Operations group
Serving as a secondary backup to the Legal Tracker matter management system
Assisting lawyers and professionals on the Litigation, EH&S and Real Estate team, on an as needed basis, on various legal assistant and matter management projects
Assisting on various engagements and improvement projects for RTX with focus on Legal, Contracts, & Compliance
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree and five years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree and three years of experience. In absence of a degree, nine (9) years of relevant experience.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to coordinate with various groups within Legal, Contracts, & Compliance, and, when necessary Outside Counsel and vendors
Proven capability of analyzing data to identify trends, discrepancies, and future projections
Experience leading RFPs and supplier or law firm negotiation
At minimum, intermediate knowledge of MS Excel
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools/sites that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship.

In depth understanding of Thompson Reuters Legal Tracker matter management system or other legal matter management system

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
