We are seeking a Senior Operations Quality Engineer with hands-on hardware quality experience to become a key part Operations Quality. Here at Raytheon, our Operations Quality Team assures product and process quality with an emphasis on Product Compliance, Customer Satisfaction and Continuous Improvement.

What You Will Do:

• Baseline factory metrics (scrap, rework, FPY, etc.), identify top drivers, forecast future demand for top drivers and identify areas of opportunity for improvement assuring clear identification, control, and disposition of nonconformities.

• Engage and support shop floor personnel and manufacturing defect prevention teams to ensure alignment on top priorities (using baseline data and future forecast). These tools are used to drive and facilitate compliance resolution, containment, Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action Implementation within closed loop process controls.

• Perform process walks, operator observations, and lead manufacturing team discussions to drive process enhancements to reduce variation.

• Lead/Drive Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) initiatives (PFMEA, control Plans, SPC, etc.) using baseline metrics and future demand with the ability to perform verification/validation of improvements and efficiencies to facilitate defect prevention.

• Integrate product and process verifications such as First Articles and audits throughout value stream processes to prevent quality escapes, optimize throughput and assure on-time delivery of products and services.

• High degree of interaction with operators, test engineering, process engineering and operations staff, requiring effective organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree (in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 5 years of experience in quality/manufacturing engineering OR Advanced degree and 3 years of experience in quality/manufacturing engineering

• Experience in first article inspection reports (FAIRs), quality monitoring, and leading root cause correct actions for both short-term and long-term initiatives in a cross functional matrixed environment.

• Experience in development/usage of quality metrics that may be used to drive true root cause and long-term corrective action, and in the identification/institution of perceptive verifications.

• Experience in manufacturing process knowledge with Quality systems and industry technical standards (ISO 9001, AS9100 and/or AS9102), interpreting drawings, work instructions, Bill of Materials (BOMs), consumable materials control, process disciplines and tool control.

• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Experience in leading or participating in Root Cause Corrective Action, implementing corrective and preventative actions

• Demonstrated knowledge of key process characteristics and ability to implement effective process control techniques.

• Able to facilitate cross-functional teams in systematic improvement activities (e.g. 6-sigma, lean manufacturing)

• Experience with data analysis, analyzing raw data and developing relevant visual aids (Pivot Tables, paretos, charts)

• Strong familiarity with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality management systems

• Strong familiarity with MIL-STD-883 requirements and microelectronics manufacturing in a cleanroom environment

• Experience with statistical analysis software such as Minitab or JMP

• Experience developing and/or monitoring Quality Metrics (Scrap, DPU, First Pass Yield), process (SPC) charts

• Six Sigma, ASQ Certifications

• Existing US DoD Secret (or higher) clearance

• Previous experience in Microelectronics

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
