Technical Support Engineer - Wafer Fab (Off-Shift) An opportunity currently exists for an off-shift technical support engineer in the wafer fab of the Microelectronics Engineering and Technology department. The Microelectronics Engineering and Technology (MET) department designs and manufactures compound semiconductor devices, millimeter/microwave integrated circuits (MMICs) and modules for defense and commercial applications and is a part of Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems. In this position, the chosen candidate will be responsible for supporting the Raytheon semiconductor foundry in any of the following areas: photolithography, dry etch, wet chemistry, plating, thin film deposition, metal deposition, etc. He or she will be responsible for providing engineering support in a cleanroom environment, assisting in resolving process issues with experimental and production wafers through the line and documenting and communicating all measurement results. The chosen candidate will also be expected to work with engineers in various areas of wafer fabrication and process development on next generation technologies. An understanding of basic semiconductor processing and cleanroom experience is desired. This position can be a Salary Grade G09-G10 based on the candidate’s qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position. Responsibilities will include some or all of the following: Support the fab by interfacing with production equipment engineering and personnel Working with process team members and engineers in the production fab to process and characterize wafers Document and effectively communicate all measurements and processing steps Support the production and development fab in various processing needs as needed Required Skills & Experience Understanding of semiconductor processing techniques and equipment, whether through coursework or hands-on lab experience Desired Skills & Experience Experience in a cleanroom environment Excellent communication, documentation, and teamwork skills Desire to learn new wafer fabrication skills and willingness to assist team members Knowledge of photolithography, plasma etch or thin film deposition or other unit fabrication processes Knowledge of III-V semiconductors, preferably Gallium Arsenide and Gallium Nitride Desire to work in a semiconductor clean room environment Education Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience or Associate's degree with 10+ years related working experience Keywords : semiconductor, metrology, cleanroom, process engineering, wafer fabrication, photolithography, plasma etch, thin film deposition This position is for a 4 th shift position covering 40 hours spanning Friday-Sunday and can be an engineer support position G09 or G10 based on the candidate’s qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience, and responsibility requirements. 128563
