Are you ready to add Mission Assurance to your skill set? Are you ready to use your technical analytical skills in the Quality Sciences? We have an intern opening in Mission Assurance at IDS facilities located in Andover, Tewksbury, or Woburn MA. You will gain exposure to the skills required to represent the customer’s best interests, assuring product and process quality and effectiveness throughout the product life cycle from planning through post-delivery support. As a Quality Engineer intern you will acquire an understanding of what is required to be the Mission Assurance interface and drive overall quality performance including continuous improvement and implementation of lean methodologies. You will help to ensure programs meet customer objectives for Mission Assurance, working closely with other functions, to affect rapid closure of issues utilizing analytical capabilities and communication skills. You will work in a results based culture with a strong focus on continuous improvement . You will experience problem-solving while working in a team environment. Your work will involve planning, coordination, facilitation, analysis, coordination and influencing to achieve continuous improvement and successful program execution, focusing on Quality. You will learn what it takes to provide Quality Sciences Subject Matter Expertise for work product and process compliance to meet tactical and strategic objectives. You will work at all levels of the organization to drive root cause and corrective action utilizing analytical capabilities and communications skills. This is a Summer Intern position from May - August 2019 Responsibilities include: Analyze and interpret trends Execute improvements on key metrics Participation in root-cause analysis, Corrective and Preventative Action solutions Team with other quality engineers to form a highly-intellectual, statistical-approach organization Ensure flow down of Raytheon and contract program requirements both internally and to suppliers, ensures compliance with contract program, quality and organizational requirements. Interface with customers and DCMA to ensure compliance and resolution of any reported issues. Review practices, procedures and processes seeking avenues to improve efficiency and effectiveness and reduce risk to product quality. Review major deliverables to ensure contract compliance prior to delivery to customer. Includes reviewing major deviations and waivers, acceptance test results and all major anomaly conditions. Interface with Raytheon’s supplier base to resolve any open issues Review & disposition non-conforming material Required Skills: Major should be a field in Engineering, Science or Mathematics U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance Desired Skills: Minimum GPA of 3.0 or above Analytical skills in root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive action Experience in continuous improvement processes such as Six Sigma and / or Lean Methodologies Excellence in both oral and written communication High energy, self-starting team player who is results based Ability to build effective relationships through partnering and collaboration Ability to operate in a dynamic and challenging, team-oriented environment Ability to build effective relationships through partnering and collaboration 129567
