**Civil Estimator** **Position Summary:** The Civil Estimator is responsible for developing accurate and thorough project estimates to optimize profit objectives and customer satisfaction. This role involves creating complete estimates for R.H. White Construction\'s self-performed work, primarily for sitework and utilities, and soliciting and reviewing subcontractor and vendor quotes. **Responsibilities:** - Adhere to and promote all Company Safety Policies and the Company Code of Conduct. - Understand and implement construction safety requirements in cost estimates. - Independently plan and create detailed, accurate project estimates. - Perform quantity takeoffs with minimal supervision. - Collaborate with suppliers and vendors for material and subcontract pricing. - Attend pre-bid meetings to understand project requirements. - Clarify project details with clients, engineers, or architects. - Review project plans and specifications to ensure all items are accounted for. - Identify labor and equipment production for estimate items. - Assist in developing project schedules. - Evaluate subcontractor and material pricing and perform scope comparisons. - Communicate project scope, risks, and value engineering items at bid review meetings. - Use cost history to develop labor and equipment production estimates. - Present final estimates at Executive Officer reviews. - Participate in the estimate closeout process. - Communicate project details to Operations during turnover. - Visit jobsites regularly to maintain project familiarity. - Provide technical information, change order pricing, and support to Operations. **Requirements:** - Bachelor\'s degree in engineering, construction management, or related field, or equivalent professional experience. - 1-5 years of construction experience. - Experience in cost estimating, performing takeoffs, and pricing. - Knowledge of estimating fundamentals and conceptual estimating techniques. - Experience in estimating sitework and site utility projects. - Ability to read and understand blueprints, design drawings, and geotechnical reports. - Strong communication skills with clients, engineers, subcontractors, and executives. - Ability to set and achieve project deadlines. - Strong organizational and multitasking skills. - Ability to work under pressure and independently. - Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Sage/Timberline, Plan Swift, Bluebeam, ISqFt, and similar programs. - Experience with earthwork takeoff programs like Carlson. - Valid US Driver\'s License.
