Description

Defines and manages the technology vision, strategy and infrastructure to support effective customer engagement and embed technology understanding and industry practices into marketing's foundation. Responsible for architecting, implementing, managing, and optimizing marketing technology solutions and systems to achieve Paychex business drivers and organizational goals. Acts as a technology liaison between business area and technical organizations by planning, conducting, and directing the analysis of complex business initiative and requirements.

  • Translates the marketing and organizational vision into marketing technology strategies for effective customer engagement and greater efficiencies through new technology processes/systems/methods as necessary. Creates and maintains the technology roadmap for communicating the current and future states in support of business direction.

  • Manages the marketing technology stack and transformation, including selecting solutions, integrating them into other technologies, and creating process, to ensure full implementation and utilization while achieving anticipated impact.

  • Serves as the internal champion for marketing technology initiatives, solutions and manages all third party technology relationships to ensure that the technology program aligns with the marketing vision and strategies and initiatives stay true to the architecture.

  • Analyzes performance and return on marketing technology investments and educates marketing organization on new technology advances to enhance and improve marketing platforms and ensure solutions are cost effective.

  • Serves as the business owner of applications and systems that support marketing to ensure business service levels and manage cost and alignment with IT protocols.

  • Serves as marketing business liaison between business and technical organizations for marketing and company initiatives. Represents marketing and develops business requirements through in depth analysis of business activities, industry trends and business owner requests to ensure marketing interests and needs are well represented, communicated, and prioritized.

  • Proactively communicates and collaborates with stakeholders, business units, technical teams, and support teams to define concepts and analyze information needs and functional requirements.

  • Collaborates with the internal marketing team, Paychex technical teams (IT), and third party industry technical professionals to design, develop, and deploy various marketing technology solutions.

  • Acts as the liaison with the IT technology management, including Security and Systems teams, to ensure that the right technology is implemented and supported.

  • Contributes to defining performance metrics to support transparent monitoring, continuous improvement, and stakeholder reporting.

  • Other duties as assigned to support the general purpose of the position’s function.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, Information Systems or related fields - Preferred

  • 10+ years of experience in programming, business and systems analysis, managing the integration of application software across platforms, and workflow management.

  • Experience with complex database systems and processes, ecommerce platforms, marketing automation tools, and content management systems.

  • Marketing, Sales, and/or marketing and sales technology experience.

  • Agile experience.
