Our employees provide engineering and technical services, end-to-end design, procurement, fabrication, installation, testing, training, equipment assessments, logistics, repair, depot operation and maintenance of Hull, Mechanical & Electrical (HM&E) and electronic systems aboard submarines, surface ships and at Navy shore facilities.

We are searching for aTest and Commissioning Engineer at ourPower Management- Ayer, MA location. The Development Test Engineer will design, develop and implement test equipment and test programs for design verification and production testing. This will include the design of electronic circuits and writing test software to attain full test coverage.Must be capable of working unsupervised.

You will demonstrate success by:

· Maintaining, supporting and developing all production test procedures and equipment on site and in other L3 locations.

· Performing engineering tasks as necessary to check the technical integrity and proper installation and commissioning of L3 Power, Propulsion and Control systems.

· Providing training and instruction to customers on product operations.

· Performing other directed engineering tasks to facilitate proper service, installation, commissioning and customer satisfaction.

· Performing troubleshooting activities at site locations during ship scheduled port visits or at sea to diagnose problems, determine appropriate resolution, and implements corrective actions.

· Use of company technical documentation and provides feedback for improvement. Maintain and manage an assigned installation equipment base: This includes providing primary support, forecasting, conducting customer support meetings and ensuring regular communication with the customer.

· Management may assign other duties as required.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Programming with excellent software coding skills – proficient in C , JAVA, etc.

  • Must have two to three (2-3) years of programming experience.

  • Ability to install, commission and troubleshoot L3 Power System electrical control and propulsion software installations.

  • Expert level technical knowledge of electronics and electro-mechanical systems.

  • Ability to travel to destinations in the USA or overseas at very short notice to troubleshoot existing Marine control and propulsion systems.

  • Ability to learn and follow defined departmental policies, procedures and practices.

  • Must be able to make decisions with regard to completion of tasks and job methods and follow through with results of outcome.

  • Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills essential.

  • Must be able to interact and communicate with internal customers. Internal customers may include production, engineers, and management personnel.

  • Ability to prioritize workload and shift work activities in order to meet business needs and department goals, and customer satisfaction.

  • Requires expert level experience using one or more of the following software packages: Excel, Word, Power Point, Internet Protocol, and computer networking.
