State of Massachusetts Multimedia Support Specialist in Barnstable, Massachusetts

The Cape and Islands District Attorney's Office serves all of the people of the Cape and Islands with offices in Barnstable, Orleans, Falmouth, Edgartown and Nantucket.We are seeking a Multimedia Support Specialistto join our IT team in Barnstable, MA. The work schedule is Monday through Friday 8:30AM to 4:30PM EST as based on operational needs. Travel, after-hours and weekend support may be required. The Multimedia Support Specialist is responsible forassisting Assistant District Attorneys with case and trial preparation to ensure the accurate preservation, analysis, and presentation of digital evidence in various legal and investigative matters while also supporting office operating systems, hardware, software, mobile devices, and associated subsystems. Responsibilities: * Collect, preserve, and analyze digital evidence from various sources, including computers, external media, mobile devices, servers, and cloud platforms. * Employ industry-standard forensic tools and techniques to extract, recover, and analyze electronic data while maintaining the integrity and chain of custody. * Assist in developing and implementing best practices for digital evidence collection, analysis, presentation, and preservation. * Assist prosecutors with editing and playing multimedia files, ensuring multimedia aligns with quality standards and legal requirements. * Maintain accurate records of all digital evidence handling procedures and activities, generating reports detailing digital forensic work when needed. * Assist Information Technology Director to upgrade end-of-life equipment and software. * Implement new and upgraded physical and software solutions. Install hardware, operating systems and programs on end-user devices. * Provide technical support to staff members of the Cape and Islands District Attorney’s Office, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software and network issues. * Assist Information Technology Director to manage server utilized for case management and basic office automation. * Assist with the management of Office 365 accountsand provide user instruction. * Assist with system backups, restores, updates and patches of all Cape and Islands District Attorney’s Office desktops, laptops and servers and supports mobile devices. * Collaborate with cross-functional teams, ADAs, law enforcement, and other office staff, to provide expert guidance on evidence presentation in court proceedings. Assist Assistant District Attorneys with digital review and presentation preparation for trial. * Provide expert testimony in legal proceedings as needed. * Qualifications * At least two years of experience in a technical support capacity preferred. * Bachelor’s degree in digital media, digital forensics, or related field preferred. * Experience in digital forensics, electronic evidence handling preferred. * Proficiency in video editing and other multimedia development tools. * Knowledge and hands-on experience with Microsoft operating systems required. * Ability to follow all major outage standard operating procedure guidelines for local and system wide outages. * Working technical knowledge of current network protocols, operating systems, and standards required. * Familiarity with the criminal justice system process. * Ability to keep meticulous and consistent documentation. * Experience deploying and imaging desktops, laptops, and performing hardware diagnostics. * Strong analytical skills, with the ability to independently analyze data and effectively recommend solutions. * Proficiency in using digital forensic tools such as Axon Investigate, FTK, and Cellebrite preferred. * Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for preparing reports and presenting evidence. *Physical Requirements: * * Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. * Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
